Productive first RSG meeting in Extremadura, Spain
The first meeting with regional stakeholders from Extremadura took place on 18 September in a hybrid format to launch a new collaborative framework for mutual learning and create a space for sharing successful talent retention and attraction initiatives from the region.
The first step was a briefing on the aims and objectives of the project, where participants were introduced to the main challenges identified in the project and the analysis of the policy instrument addressed in the regional context: RIS3 Extremadura 2021-2027.
The agenda also included a brief presentation of the main conclusions of the State of the Art on the Retention and Attraction of Talent in Extremadura, a report that carried out a process of analysis of the factors that contribute to the emigration of qualified professionals and the consequences of this talent drain.
Among other public administration representatives, the meeting was attended by the General Secretary for Science, Technology and Innovation, one of the key actors in the implementation of policy improvements at regional level.
These Regional Stakeholders Meetings will be held every six months in order to transfer the lessons learnt from the rest of the countries participating in the project to regional actors in order to improve existing policies.
