First Kick-off meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece

🏃‍♀️ A two-day meeting was hosted by Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης | Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in Thessaloniki to initiate the DEPART project, which focuses on developing sustainable sports tourism that leverages the competitive advantages of the participating regions.

📝 The project will investigate best practices in sports tourism across three key areas:
(i) dedicated sports holidays, such as skiing in the mountains and marathons
(ii) travel to resorts with sports facilities and fitness equipment
(iii) unorganized sports activities that allow tourists to freely participate, such as beach volleyball, rock climbing, and river tracing.
At the meeting, representatives from the partner institutions were present, including:
