On the 12th of June, 2023, the Marshal Office of Świętokrzyskie Region organized the first Regional Stakeholders’ Group Meeting related to the SYSTOUR Project.

What good practices in the field of tourism in rural areas in our voivodship can we recommend and promote internationally? The stakeholders of the project "SYSTOUR - A systemic approach to the strategy of sustainable tourism in rural areas", which will be implemented for the next 4 years as part of the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 program, were discussing about this case. The idea behind the SYSTOUR project is to support the exchange of experiences, promote innovative solutions and build the potential of institutions participating in the preparation and implementation of regional development policies in the context of sustainable tourism development in rural areas. During the first meeting of the project stakeholders from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship there has been agreed on the schedule of activities, including the preparation of an analysis of regional conditions for the development of tourism, natural values, and economic links. In the meeting participated 13 representatives of the organizations connected with tourism, among others, the Regional Tourist Organization of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodship, the Local Tourist Organization "Góry Świętokrzyskie", the Local Tourist Organization "Moc Ponidzia" and the Association for the Development of Polish Villages. Over the next 4 years, a series of meetings, study visits, and educational events will take place that will help develop good practices and innovative solutions. It is about effectively redirecting tourist traffic to areas that have not yet had a chance for wider promotion or whose potential has not yet been fully recognized and used. For Świętokrzyskie, where 93% of the area is rural, this is of great importance.
