Project summary
In a joint effort to enhance tourism resilience, the Municipality of Hévíz (Hungary) will implement the project DIGITALIZE: Enhancing Tourism Resilience through Digital Solutions. In partnership with entities from Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Germany and the Neitherlands. The consortium aims to increase the competitiveness of tourism sector via integration of digital technologies.The 8-semester project seeks to align regional policies with the objectives of promoting digitalisation and sustainability in tourism. The first part of the project focuses on interregional learning and includes several professional activities. The partners will conduct a study on the existing digital solutions in tourism in their countries and regions, and analyse good practices in terms of their adaptability. During the study tours, they will visit Alytus, Badajos, Almodovar and Reggio di Calabria to discover some of the developments already completed. In the framework of workshops and stakeholder meetings the partners and relevant actors will discuss, analyse and develop proposals and improve their policy instruments for the wider deployment of digital solutions. DIGITALIZE will address the use of digital tools to improve visitor experiences, attract new demographics, foster innovation and promote sustainable tourism practices. It will empower participating regions to adapt to the digital environment, enhancing their tourism offers and contributing to regional development and cohesion. In the second part of the project the impact and results of policy developments will be evaluated allowing for realignment and optimization of policy frameworks. DIGITALIZE is an ambitious step forward the development of digital capabilities of the European tourism industry and demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable practices, value-added tourism and regional cohesion. Through innovation, the project can contribute to the future of resilient and digitally-enhanced tourism sector.
