The Region of South Aegean is one of the thirteen regions of Greece. It consists of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese island groups in the central and south-eastern Aegean Sea, with a total of 52 inhabited islands. The region is divided into 13 regional units, formed around major islands and its capital is situated in Ermoupoli on the island of Syros.
Currently, the Region participates as a partner in the implementation of project TAAS under the Interreg Europe Programme.
