Monica Demetriou, Ph.D., is a biological oceanographer working as a Research Scientist at the Oceanography Centre, University of Cyprus since 2014. Her research focuses on phytoplankton distribution and ecology in the coastal waters of Cyprus. She has over 15 years of experience working in the field of marine biology and ecology, with experience in Posidonia meadows mapping, visual census surveys, fisheries surveys, among others.
