Bio
Jan Mast is an agricultural engineer by training with a PhD in applied biological sciences. He specializes in the metrologically-sound characterization of nanomaterials using electron microscopy in a regulatory context. He contributes as an expert to work groups of the JRC, EC, CEN, and EFSA. His scientific work includes > 120 peer-reviewed publications and scientific opinions. His service holds the Belgian reference laboratory for trace elements and nanomaterials in the food chain.
