Cluster BioCon Valley - Moderator and catalyst

BioCon Valley® was awarded the contract for “coordinating the measures in the health economy MV” in a Europe-wide invitation for tenders by the State Government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Thus, the government decided at a very early stage to establish a cluster organisation to strategically support the development of the state as outstanding destination in the field of life sciences and health economy. For more than fifteen years now BioCon Valley® is concentrating MV’s forces in these fields. It is the task of BioCon Valley® to support and sustainably develop the key advantages (sticking out clinical and research infrastructures) alongside with the State. The goals define the tasks of BioCon Valley®:Information, networking, initiation, marketing
BioCon Valley® works as mediator between business and science and is stimulating the cooperation between research and industry in order to make use of the research potentials of the region and for the region.
The cluster combines a Ltd as well as a non for profit members association. Main shareholder of the Ltd is the Ministry of Economics, Employment and Health of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Also, BioCon Valley® is member of the strategic council business and Science. In this regard, BioCon Valley® is coordinating and organising on behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Employment and Health of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern together with a steering committee the future field „Health / Life Science“ within the framework of the RIS.
