This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
As the good practice is based on the program of economic and social development of the city of Prešov, the aim was mainly focused to complement the city police fleet with alternative propulsion vehicles.
The city police provided four electric scooters, which included in their fleet, in addition to improving mobility in restricted areas of standard vehicles, urban policemen contribution to the promotion of alternative energy sources as well as a broad awareness of available travel alternatives. The electric scooter is relatively simple and available. Driving licenses are not required for driving. The scooter is also equipped with a signalling device, reaching a speed of 30 kilometres per hour and weighing 30 kilograms. The one-charge ride is 80 kilometres.
From the point of view of the involvement of the stakeholders, it is predominantly an authority primarily under the city of Prešov, secondary to the region itself. Beneficiaries of practices are predominantly residents of the city and region, by increasing their awareness of the availability of electromobility tools in their daily lives.
This good practice is related to:
- Policies and Regulatory Measures for Electro-Mobility
- Public incentives for the purchase of e-vehicles,
- Awareness raising

Resources needed
The amount of funding/financial resources used was about 6.000 €. The sum consists of the cost of purchasing 4 electric scooters.
Evidence of success
This practice helped to bring the idea of integrating electromobility into the ordinary life of the Prešov people. City policemen use these means of transport mainly in the city centre and near the neighbourhood, but also in settlements in the vicinity of shopping centres, where most people are moving and also cyclists. Police officers are particularly grateful for the operability of transfers in places where they are hard to get on with the motor vehicle.
Potential for learning or transfer
The described good practice is based on the program of economic and social development of the city of Prešov for the years 2015 - 2020, namely activities aimed at equipment / refurbishment of the city police fleet by vehicles for alternative CNG, LPG, electric vehicles / electric bicycles. Although it is a fairly simple form of integration of electromobility tools into ordinary life, targeting on specific segments has produced a relatively high response from the media to the public itself. The key success factor was therefore accurate targeting. This has greatly contributed to raising awareness of issues across all relevant groups.
