Local coordinators network for public transport in Kalisz-Ostrow Agglomeration

The transport system in the Agglomeration is very complex. Once local government units - members of the Association - have not taken into account this complexity. To achieve a sustainable transport system for passengers integration in various transport modes is necessary. Therefore, Transport Coordinators were appointed in all administration units, responsible for the integration of public transport of their own territory with other units - Association members. The advantages of such cooperation include a better offer of public transport services for passengers - e.g. a joint agglomeration ticket, Agglomeration resident card - as well as overtaking the constantly growing demand for mobility regarding that public means of transport will be an important factor. Coordinators are required to identify challenges and elaborate solutions. Agglomeration units implement them so that the public transport system becomes more attractive. The goal of the Transport Coordinator Network is also designing joint instruments that will enable the integration and sustainable management of public transport systems in the Agglomeration based on best practices. Quarterly workshops are organised dedicated to the exchange of experience in the field of transport and presentation of good practices. During the workshops, each networking partner presents the issues they face, solutions they think of or apply, development paths and the financial resources required for this purpose.
