This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
In order to transfer knowledge on water reuse to the different target groups, MULTI-ReUse used successfully different communication methods:
- Learning Expeditions
Different stakeholder groups were invited to exchange views on water reuse and to be informed about the project. The pilot plant was visited with different groups i.e. students, agricultural groups, politicians and journalists. The learning expedition focused on actively experiencing by showing i.e. water samples and the technique of the pilot plant.
- Dialogue Events
Stakeholders were invited to discuss the future challenges of water supply and the possible threats and chances of water reuse together with the project team.
- Touch Table
A touch table was used to show in a digital form information about the project. It was shown on events and is now part of an ongoing exhibition in a water museum.
- Fact sheets
Short fact sheets are online available and were distributed in printed version to communicate different key aspects of the project and results.
- Image film
A short film explained the idea and the concept of the project and was often shown in the beginning of stakeholder events.
- Articles in journals
To reach out to the experts it was an important part to publish articles not only in local newspapers but also in scientific journals.

Evidence of success
Participants of the events as well as the regional press show a great interest in the project. In addition, these measures also successfully addressed the issue of water reuse at national level.
Potential for learning or transfer
Communication is a key issue for reuse projects. Authorities, users and future consumers have to trust in the water quality of reuse water. From the experiences of this project future reuse projects can learn how to communicate with different stakeholders.
