About this good practice
Patras IQ initiative is trying to enhance entrepreneurial culture by creating a competitive advantage for both the research community and the productive sector, through a continuous effort to resolve real problems and apply innovative ideas through the Patras IQ Exhibition.
The exhibition includes:
Products and services stemming from innovative ideas developed by:
-Research and Technology bodies
-Primary and secondary experimental schools,
-Scientific students organizations
Networking and knowledge transfer actions such as:
-Workshops and seminars for the presentation of specific innovation & entrepreneurship-related topics
-Face-to-face meetings
-Keynotes by innovation and entrepreneurship experts
Patras IQ is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Development, the University of Patras, Achaia Chamber of Commerce, the Region of Western Greece, the Hellenic Open University, and the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece.
Beneficiaries of the practice are:
• Researchers
• Students
• Productive sector stakeholders
• Start-ups & Spin-offs
• Investors from Greece and abroad
• Primary and secondary school students

Resources needed
Funded by the organizations of the signed framework with the amount of 80.000€, annually and also from private sector sponsorships.

Evidence of success
Since 2012, Patras IQ exhibition event has grown in terms of participants & visitors.
Patras IQ has been awarded the National Prize European Enterprise Promotion Awards- EEPA 2017, in the category “Promoting Enterprise”, and has been chosen to represent Greece at European level.
Honored with a Prize of Education Business Awards 2016 in the category C.5: Cooperation with Business Agencies and Organizations, from an institution which rewards the good practices in the field of education

Potential for learning or transfer
Effective practice transfer must include the establishment of a strong collaboration among the representatives of the 4 helix pillars, namely:

3. Policy making actors (ministries, regions, municipalities etc.)
4. Open social actors (students’ communities, start-up ecosystems, associations, clubs etc.)
