This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
The school building dates back to the 1950s; it was realized in absence of criteria for containment of energy consumption costs for thermal uses.
The supporting structure is in reinforced concrete; soles are in cementitious lateral cladding are in perforated bricks, with a gap or a simple sheet at the bottom. The roof is in Marseille tiles; the foams were not watertight.
The project produced following interventions:
- photovoltaic plant for the production of electricity (made on the roof facing south-east and south-west) with a peak power of 27 kWp
- Increasing the efficiency of the thermal system through the installation of a thermal regulation system
- improvement of the characteristics of the outer casing by insulation of the walls corresponding to the classrooms (thermal coat thickness of 10 cm), insulation of the roofs where the photovoltaic panel (thermal insulation layer of 10 cm thickness), replacement of old fixtures with new high performance fixtures.

Resources needed
The investment of this project was: € 370.346,01
Evidence of success
29,310 kWh / year. Reduction of about 14 tons / year of CO2.
Potential for learning or transfer
The project is replicable in other buildings throughout the region. Both in private and in public buildings like this one.
Organizations involved learned the financial and reporting methodology required by European programming, making it easier to implement future projects.
