About this good practice
Showrooms offer eHealth and telemedicine expertise and services to health and social care professionals, citizens and companies in the South Ostrobothnia (SO) region. Various eHealth and telemedicine services and solutions were tested in the center. Currently the showroom serves especially SeAMK social and healthcare education actions and solutions are also presented regularly to various companies.
The showroom demonstrates intelligent future home for elderly individuals with modern equipment and services that advance possibilities to high quality, safe and active living at home.
Workshops for local companies are organized to increase their knowledge about the possibilities of technological solutions. Local companies can also test the equipment and develop their services. New innovations are possible when RDI actors can utilize built showrooms in their actions.
There is a possibility to demonstrate for example robotics, artificial intelligence and mobile health solutions related to aging and rehabilitation. Demonstration environment serves the needs of local social and health care, wellbeing as well as rehabilitation companies.
The showroom environment was built in two separate projects: Nordic Telemedicine Center (Interreg Botnia Atlantica) and Artificial Intelligence, mHealth and Robotics as reformers in the welfare sector in South Ostrobothnia (ERDF).

Resources needed
Nordic Telemedicine Center overall budget was 1 517 854 € in 3 years. The budget included building of two showrooms, one to Seinäjoki, Finland and one to Umeå, Sweden. Overall budget for the project “Artificia Intelligence, mHealth and Robotics as reformors in the wellfare sector in SO area.
Evidence of success
The showroom can be used to provide wellness technology training and education in various units of the University of Applied Sciences. Cooperation with wellbeing technology companies gives us possibilities to get the latest information about the devices and pass it on directly to students. The showroom also serves companies in various testing and other development work. On an annual basis, the showroom has several dozen different activities during year.
Potential for learning or transfer
The showroom allows for extensive living lab activities. Students have opportunities to get information of various wellness technology devices in concrete terms. Showroom gives concrete information about the opportunities using by technology in healthcare. Companies benefits from Showroom because they get their products on display and have opportunities to test and develop them.
