About this good practice
The good practice is based on Memorandum of support for electromobility signed at the end of 2014. According to the Memorandum, the City of Prešov is, in cooperation with the VSE Group and the Slovak Association for Electromobility (SEVA), devote to the development of electromobility in order to reflect technological progress, analyse and propose measures, which accelerate the development of electromobility in the city.
Prešov has a first publicly available charging station for electric cars located in the center of the city from 21 January 2015. Charging station is located in a parking lot at the corner of the streets of Slovenská a Metodova, the vehicles with the most widely available charging standard in Europe, Mennekes Type 2, are there able to charge. Electricity needed to charge the vehicles is included in the price of parking.
This is the first real step of the City of Prešov following the signing of the Memorandum on the promotion of electromobility at the end of 2014.
From the point of view of the involvement of the stakeholders, it is predominantly an authority under the City of Prešov with cooperation with business sector, secondary to the region itself. Beneficiaries of practices are predominantly residents of the city and region, by increasing their awareness of the availability of electromobility and its tools in their daily lives.

Evidence of success
This practice helped to bring the idea of integrating electromobility into the ordinary life of the Prešov people. The charging station is a prerequisite for the development of e-mobility within the city. There is nothing to prevent and electric vehicles from moving in the streets of Prešov in the area of individual transport.
Potential for learning or transfer
The described good practice is based on the activity implemented under the City of Prešov initiative, following the signing of a Memorandum of support for electromobility at the end of 2014. According to the Memorandum, Prešov will, in cooperation with the VSE Group and the Slovak Association for Electromobility (SEVA), devote to the development of electromobility in order to reflect technological progress, analyse and propose measures, which accelerate the development of electromobility in the city. The key success factor was therefore development of prerequisite for e-mobility by small and well-targeted investments which significantly contribute to increasing overall awareness of the issue of electromobility, as well as cooperation between public and private sector aimed to raising awareness of issues across all relevant groups.
