During the week of 14-18 March 2022, the Policy Learning Platform hosted the first Policy learning week ever! Each day was dedicated to a specific thematic topic and consisted of Ask an Expert sessions, study visits and online workshops. The last day revolved around dedicated matchmaking sessions on demand.

Highlights

In this article, you will find the highlights of the week and you will be able to access the resources such as recordings, presentations, handouts and key learnings.

Introductory panel

The week was opened with a dedicated introductory session by Claude Turmes, Minister for Energy and Spatial Planning in Luxembourg, and Elvira Uyarra, Professor of Innovation Studies at the University of Manchester.

Watch the session to see their view of Europe's performance in tackling today’s grand challenges and the role regions and cities can play in achieving impact on the ground.

Ask an Expert

On each morning of the Policy learning week, our experts answered some of the questions sent by the community members on topics that are high on the political agenda of policymakers.

  • Environment and resource efficiency: Green public procurement, digitalisation of cultural heritage
  • SME competitiveness: Digital transition for SMEs, circular economy, social entrepreneurship
  • Research and innovation: Digital Innovation hubs, university-industry collaboration
  • Low-carbon economy: EU Taxonomy, sustainable modes of transport
