European Value Chains for the green transition

The region of Jämtland Härjedalen is facing the challenge of the green industrial transformation. Northern Swedish regions are developing new industrial capacities for the green transition that has emerged from mining and using natural resources. 

The region is transforming its industrial structure less rapidly than other Northern Swedish regions and faces brain drain and outmigration. To respond to these challenges, and keep pace with the neighbouring regions, it is crucial that the region undertakes its green industrial transformation.

The region of Jämtland Härjedalen would also like to identify new value chain opportunities to build European Value Chains for the green transition leveraging on the new green industrial dynamics in Northern Sweden. 

Therefore, the region is looking to learn from other organisations across Europe about their experience in industrial transformation.
