About the project
The expansion of renewable energies aims at meeting the energy demand of the EU while replacing fossil fuels, but it requires large areas of land - land that on the other hand is needed for agricultural production too. A possible solution for this dilemma is provided by the agrophotovoltaic (APV) or agrivoltaic systems, whereby solar photovoltaic panels are installed at farms. The current challenge is that a topographical area can be classified as agricultural land or as land for energy production. The legislative is missing how to deal with the combination as it would be requested to use the land for the installation of an agrophotovoltaic system - and this makes it impossible to spread and anchor the approach, despite of its social, economic and ecological benefits. The EAGER project will ease agrophotovoltaics for Europe via mutual policy learning and improvement of respective policy instruments.
Partners we are looking for
We are looking for policy responsible authorities who can have an impact on policy instruments relevant for agrophotovoltaics.
