About the project
E.C.H.I. – Ecomuseum Culture Heritage Involvement: A Project for the Support and
Promotion of High Mountain Areas in Europe Identity is a complex, plural, and above
all dynamic concept, a process in constant evolution intertwined with history, culture,
and the environment. In the context of high mountain areas in Europe, the identity
of these communities develops around a set of traditions, natural resources, and
economic practices that, although differing from one place to another, seem to
share common elements. The E.C.H.I. project (Ecomuseum Culture Heritage
Involvement) aims to explore and enhance these aspects of identity, focusing on
how high mountain communities, through ecomuseums, manage to protect and
promote their cultural and natural heritage, transforming it into a tool for
sustainable development
