About the project
The aim of the Environmental Liability Directive 2004/35/EC is the reduction and prevention of environmental damage, punishing the damage caused by different professional activities and forcing the reparation.
A major problem with the Environmental Liability Directive (ELD) is its under-use in practice in many European territories, as a result of its voluntary application.
The transposition of the Directive to the policy frame of the different European countries and regions has been carried out unevenly. Accordingly, the difference between countries and regions with regard to the degree of implementation and the types of measures and models in force is large.
ENLIA aims at different partner regions from all over Europe to exchange their experience with regard to the transposition and implementation of the Environmental Liability Directive, with the aim of accelerating the mainstreaming of the ELD principles into environmental policies in force.
