About the project
The current situation in our region is a difficult one. Annually, medical waste is collected after the treatment of patients. According to the Sanitary Regulation, for the management of waste resulting from medical activity, the processes and methods used for the treatment and disposal of waste must not endanger public health and the environment. Approximately 12 tons of medical waste are collected annually in the Republic of Moldova. The methods of destruction are different. Each medical institution is obliged according to the Sanitary Regulation to destroy the waste without negative impact. The risk of infection as a result of needle sting is 0.3% of HIV; 3% viral hepatitis C and from 6-30 viral hepatitis B. In 2020, the structure of non-hazardous waste was 77.13% in Soldanesti district, followed by infectious waste 22%, other hazardous waste - 0.25%, anatopathological waste - 0.62%.
