About the project
We are developing on our farm in Burgundy (France) a pasture cropping system, that allows the production of winter crops without any input and with marginal soil disturbance. Practically, we direct-drill winter cereals in legume pastures. This approach of regenerative agriculture performs well on most of the ecosystemic services, minus the yields. We believe we have two levers to drive up the yields : (i) to diversify the pasture, possibly with perennial C4-grasses; (ii) the inclusion of adapted grazing. We need to bind research with our field experience in order to drive up the performance of an agro-system that regenerates soils instead of degrading them. Research skills would include soil's ecology, plant physiology, ecophysiology, systems agronomy.
