About the project
Lille Metropole is a Public intermunicipal cooperation authority of 1.2 millions inhabitants on a territory of 95 municipalities both rural and urban. 26 municipalities located in the south of Lille Metropole provide 40 % of the territory’s drinking water supply. Alongside these 26 municipalities, Lille Metropole propose a new model of development, renouncing to any urban expansion in this area aimed at inventing new ways of housing, economic activity, agriculture, services & mobility, in order to protect this water resource. We are looking for partnerships around several topics: • A new planning approach for that type of areas, based on the water cycle as key component • The ccompatibility of agricultural & economic activities, with the fragility of groundwater resources. • Examples of ecosystem approach to improve soil services and quality of ground water resources particularly in urban areas.
