Sulina hosted deployment of the second meeting of stakeholders on October 27th , activity conducted within the project "Coastal heritage management" - HERICOAST implemented by Tulcea County Council as a partner.
At the event attended representatives of relevant stakeholders with a role to fulfill the purpose of the project, namely: UAT Jurilovca, UAT Sarichioi, UAT Commune C.A. Rosetti, UAT Murighiol, UAT Sulina, Institute of Eco-Museum "Gavrila Simion" Tulcea, Tulcea County Department for Culture, South East Regional Development Agency ,CERAHES Association.
The event started with a speech held by Vicepresident of Tulcea County Council, Mr Mergeani Dumitru, who stressed the importance of using cultural resources in a sustainable and balanced way, as well as the necessity of active participation of all actors involved in building the restoration and promotion of the heritage with cultural value in the City of Sulina.
It was also brought into discussion the uniqueness of this space bearing the mark of rural deltaic architecture of which specific urban heritage structures today are threatened with degradation and their salvation is mandatory.
The problems identified can be overcomed only by developing a coordinated approach on coastal heritage, involving all stakeholders, including the use of available funds and data on cultural heritage resources already available for better communication with the local community .
