Dr. Lawrence Atsu Akpalu works with the Forestry Commission and other professionals in universities and research institutions to use GIS and Remote Sensing for multi-hazard risk assessment, mapping of the forest landscape, geospatial mapping of soil (properties and carbon) for sustainable agriculture, and financial viability analysis of agroforestry projects. He also has expertise in mapping biodiversity and habitat suitability, land cover/land use classification for resource accounting.
