Architecture Map South West Flanders
About this good practice
The region strives for high-quality standards for buildings and public spaces. There are plenty of examples but there is a lack of knowledge and promotion of these inspiring projects.
The Architecture Map South West Flanders offers a collection of high-quality architecture and public spaces in the Kortrijk region. Everybody can apply and the selection is based on assessment by a selection committee. The architecture map is a valuable resource for urban planning and development. It helps understanding the architectural layout of the region, which can guide and inspire future projects.
The architecture map also serves as a guide for tourists, helping them explore and appreciate the unique architectural landmarks. It also serves as an educational tool, providing insights into the architectural styles, historical periods, and cultural influences that have shaped the region.
The Architecture Map South West Flanders also showcases the rich built heritage of the region. In that way it helps preserving and promoting the historical and architectural significance of the region.
The Architecture Map South West Flanders is a joint initiative from regional intermunicipal organisation Leiedal, Design Region Kortrijk, the City of Kortrijk, vzw Archipel, Kortrijk Heritage and the City of Harelbeke.
