This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
In a country where tourism is one of the main industries, the sinergy between crafts and tourism has a lot of potential. However, it is important to design actions that develop this potential in a deep, solid, honest and solvent way, otherwise it is possible to end up doing the most obvious and easiest task, reducing the quality and prestige of both, tourism and crafts.
Innovation in the products, processes and business models is necessary to create that sinergy between tourism and crafts, bringing prestige to both sectors.
The renovation of an old farm located in an ideal landscape led to the desire of offering visitors to the area a unique and creative experience through artistic and crafting workshops.
This creative experience is aimed at groups of people who visit the area (La Vall d'en Bas - La Garrotxa) and are looking for a different, sustainable, and creative tourism. People who enjoy rural environments and local gastronomy but want to live a creative and personal experience related to the region they are visiting.
A guided tour of the workshop is proposed, explaining the creative processes and the artist's work. This visit concludes with creative practice that consists of creating a glass utilitarian piece that will later be used in the restaurant or hotel where participants are staying.
This experience allows participants to experience the entire creation process, from the idea to its use.

Evidence of success
The feedback of customers and participants has been very positive.
Visitors appreciate the experience of having learned and discovered the challenges and difficulties of handwork and creative work, because they go through the whole process of creating a piece with their own hands. They also understand how the artist is influenced by the environment and landscape that surrounds the workshop, which is also a source of inspiration for his own works.

Potential for learning or transfer
Through this practice, the link between crafts and artistic work with the territory and local gastronomy products is highlighted. This allows to promote and link different craft trades. In this way, a cheese maker from the area can serve its products in a unique and craft piece created by the visitor. Participants can meet different producers and trades that are specifically linked to the territory.
