About this good practice
The aim is to integrate associated organisations to provide social services and enable beneficiaries to live independently in a local community to prevent people from being isolated from family, friends and neighbours.
When help in the place of residence is not possible to provide living conditions (home-like) and to enable maintaining relationships with other people. The Association of Aid Organizations groups several NGOs. They share a common goal, joint implementation of projects and programs. One of the associated organizations is Helping Hand Foundation which specialises in services for seniors, provides care and assistance services. In total, 80 inhabitants benefit from services offered by them.
The practice implementation: running two Day Care Homes in the short-term care system; running a rehabilitation centre - improving the physical condition of patients; establishment and functioning of the Senior Club for elderly dependents; providing assistant services (8 assistants take care of 48 pupils - help in: running a home, shopping, serving meals, monitoring their mental state); providing legal assistance.
The main stakeholders and beneficiaries of the practice: NGOs, social welfare centres, seniors (also dependent seniors) and their families, social cooperatives and other cooperating organizations.
The Association runs many projects and is very successful in gaining funds for the further development. About 330 beneficiaries get the support from the entity.

Potential for learning or transfer
The Association is a network of NGO’s dynamically developing its activities for various groups of recipients of social services (mainly disabled, elderly and sick people who cannot fully function independently). What is unique about this organization is strengthening its potential through cooperation rather than competition. The Association, while conducting business activity, remains a non-profit organization, but also provides paid services and allocates the funds obtained in this way to statutory activities.
The crucial point is the collection of highly motivated persons from a few organisations who are eager to cooperate. This experience could be a good opportunity to be implemented in other areas. If the programme would be especially supported by social economy development centres the number of organisations or companies dealing with social services for the elderly could be developed.
