Association of Female Leaders
About this good practice
The main mission of the Association "Lyderės" is to create a society without gender stereotypes and to empower women in the labor market. The association strives for gender balance in leadership positions, reducing the pay gap between men and women for the same work, improving conditions for women's family and career reconciliation, and real changes in the education system, developing a sustainable and responsible approach to gender equality. Since 2017 active representatives of business and society gathered in the "Lyderė" association, by their example and initiated projects, encourage women to boldly pursue their careers and contribute to the strengthening of gender equality and leadership in Lithuania. Now around 200 female members are actively involved in activities changing the role of women in society .
Resources needed
The Association is funded by membership fees and financial support from external sponsors.
Evidence of success
More than 200 known women of Lithuania are participating in activities of this Association and talking about main challenges and barriers for women. They have organized more than 200 various awareness raising events and involving more than 2, 000 participants
