Early Music Program (Early Music Festival and Early Music Summer University)
About this good practice
Our goal this year was to turn towards nature through music, to draw attention with the help of music to the natural environment and to highlight the close relationship between the early music and nature.
Performers of all ages have sung about nature.
Our main objectives:
Early Music Festival: 16 concerts, more than 170 invited artists from 5 different countries, with the duration of 9 days + 7 additional events (local history tour with music, documentary film presentation, children’s Renaissance day, Renaissance dance event, wine tasting with music, projection the documentary film: Crafting Recorders, book presentation).
Early Music Summer University: 8 masterclasses, led by internationally recognized instructors with the participation of 60 students. There were also held two closing gala concerts, and the Early Music `Kindergarten` for the youngest participants, led by Ms. Rebeka Ádám.
The event`s target groups: the invited artists, the students of the Early Music Summer University, the audience of the festival, and the discerning music-loving audience of the region and Transylvania. The festival is the oldest initiative among the few early music festivals of the country, and in addition to its professional importance, it also plays a significant role in community-shaping. In our country at all levels there is a lack of teaching the historical presentation mode, so the festival and the summer university are the targeted events to fill this gap.
