Environmental Commitment Stamp
About this good practice
This good practice is focus on schools, urban gardens, municipalities, the HORECA channel (hotels, restaurants and catering) and big generators that self-manage bio-waste and can prevent the generation of biowaste.
The "Environmental Commitment Stamp" is granted to associations, educative centers and urban gardens if a series of requirements are met, with the aim of recognizing its involvement in the separation of the organic fraction, composting and soil regeneration. In this way, motivate the prevention of biowaste.
The compost produced is used as an organic amendment and fertilizer in green areas,
gardens and orchards. The project will be carried out in the territorial area of RSU, among the municipalities and entities interested in recognizing said stamp.
The "Environmental Commitment Stamp" has 3 levels:
1. SEPARATE: Prevention and separation of bio-waste at the source.
2. COMPOSTING: Domestic and/or community composting carried out in the same facilities or municipality.
3. REGENERATE: Application of the compost obtained to regenerate the soil.
The stamp is granted if you meet any of the requirements. The category will appear on if the entity meets the requirements of that category.
Resources needed
The initial investment is 1.200€ in design and printing.
Evidence of success
RSUSA expects the participation diversity entities (associations, educationals centres and HORECA channel).
The entities that it working to get the environmental commitment stamp are excited to obtain the stamp. Also, RSUSA received congratulations from this entities to created this iniciative.
Potential for learning or transfer
The proposed good practice has the potential to motivate and recognize the work of various entities in the recycling of urban waste, especially the organic fraction. This recognition is an added value to citizens for their environmental commitment.
Meeting the requirements to grant the seal generates greater environmental awareness among participants.
