About this good practice
Intangible assets and intellectual property play a decisive role in all maturity phases of the life cycle of a company. Assets of all kinds including intangible assets/intellectual capital have to be evaluated and appraised as part of financial accounting implemented by companies and valuation methodologies used by financial professionals. This information is then used in market transactions (asset markets) or as underlying for transactions on financial markets. In the project we focus on the development of a valorization methodology. An evaluation framework and a standard of indicators that define the frame of evaluation were created. Main stakeholders of the project were the Intellectual Property Offices and those actors who possess knowledge of evaluation of intangible assets/intellectual properties. Operators for evaluation were trained and also pilot actions were made. EVLIA evaluation tool was available through an IT platform.
