About this good practice
In Italy, as in other countries, the management of the pandemic required, among other things, the adoption of restrictive measures never experienced before.
In the context of a general and widespread climate of uncertainty that affected individuals, communities, policy-makers and health professionals, in the attempt to reduce the risk and the spread of the pandemic, the creation of a manual for hoteliers with safe and guaranteed guidelines represents a useful tool to guide operators in the constantly evolving panorama of regulations and protocols imposed at national level.
Secure Clean Hotel is a project, set up by an Italian company based in Rimini, that created guidelines and protocols, operational tools, ideas and procedures for hotels and hospitality companies to maintain high standards and keep employees and customers protected from the spread of harmful bacteria and viruses.
The guide was produced taking into consideration the circulars of the Ministry of Health, the guidelines of the World Health Organization, the indications of Federturismo Confindustria, the Polytechnic of Turin and the Italian Federation of Public Exercises. In addition, Italian and international articles and publications related to Covid-19 for our sector, best practices and all the experience of Teamwork consultants.
The beneficiaries of Secure Clean Hotel are numerous hotelier associations as well as to numerous independent hoteliers in Italy who adopted this procedures.

Evidence of success
Many hotels and accommodation structures joined the project so to communicate to be a safe and reliable location for travelers. SCH has designed online courses that are implemented on an online learning platform filled with educational content and live instruction on subjects and topics dedicated to tourism and hospitality professionals. Launched in 01. 2020, WeLevel Academy had unexpected success: in just over a month, the online platform went from 120 subscribers to over 18,000 registered user
Potential for learning or transfer
After the COVID pandemic, considering the new requests and needs of customers, guarantees of hygiene and cleanliness had become decisive aspects and one of the first factor in choosing a structure to stay in. The guest will ask for guarantees on the safety and sanitation aspects and the hotel will have to respond in a complete and professional manner, even when this pandemic will be definitively over.
The guidelines and protocols help the hotels to apply correct standard in line with the new needs of security and clean, take in act the right procedures, maintain the trust of guests and protect brand reputation.
