About this good practice
Strijp-S is a former Philips industrial site in the heart of Eindhoven. It is now being redeveloped with retail, offices and residential buildings. Mobility-S is the mobility service provider of Strijp-S. It aims to service, develop, and innovate parking and mobility services in Strijp-S together with the stakeholders.
The project developer has been challenged by the municipality of Eindhoven to develop a mobility concept that stimulates sustainable ways of transport (public transport, cycling, car and bikesharing) among visitors and inhabitants of Strijp S. In case of a successfull concept the municipality could agree with less parking places in Strijp S, which also is in advantage of the project developer who has not to realize expensive carparkings.

Evidence of success
Mobility-S works closely together with different stakeholders to optimise the accessibility of the Strijp-S area. It is a good example of how mobility policies and measures are developed in cooperation with (a/o) the retailsector.
At the moment Mobility S can be seen as a succesfull concept of reducing cartraffic and reducing retailrelated traffic. This has led to less parking places for cars and instead of that more quality/liveability in the public space.
