About this good practice
OKP Rogaška Slatina LLC carries out collection, cleaning and distribution of water, waste management and disposal and management of land registry data in the area of the administrative unit Šmarje pri Jelšah. The company has been operating since 1963. In the second half of 2007, the company implemented the ’yellow bag’ project, which enables separation of packaging waste at the place of origin. At the same time, a separate collection of glass packaging as well as waste paper and cardboard was carried out. The company carries out door-to-door campaigns for the purpose of collecting textiles and hazardous waste. In 2017, based on the door-to-door system, the company began collecting e-waste equipment and white goods (household appliances). OKP has established collection centres where residents can drop of their e-waste as well as other kinds of waste and carries out awareness campaigns to educate residents on the importance of proper e-waste disposal.

Evidence of success
According to statistical data on collected e-waste between the years 2019-2023, the company collected:
- 34.460 kg of e-waste (TVs) in 2019
- 39.760 kg of e-waste (TVs) in 2020
- 7.260 kg of e-waste (TVs) in 2023
- 148.325 kg of white goods (household appliances) in 2020
