This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
Agropolychim offers a strategy for utilization of the waste bio-raw material (straw) and prevention of the harmful consequences caused by its decomposition on the agricultural land. The company builds lasting relationships with local farmers, concluding contracts with them for the purchase of straw from cereals. The baling process begins with the harvesting of wheat, carried out with specialized equipment. The baling stops the process of decomposition of organic waste by vacuuming it in bales, preparing for temporary storage, transportation and easier processing in special processing plants. The baling straw: reduce the cost of treating crops with plant protection products, reduce harvest and the post-field processing costs. Among the easiest technologies to use biomass is its direct conversion into heat energy. Considered environmentally friendly fuel, helps to reduce emissions of carbon monoxide, which are among the main gases that favor the greenhouse effect and ozone depletion. The Advantages: Pellets are produced from waste bio-raw material, which is used instead of being discarded. The annual amount of waste bio raw material is about one trillion tons. Instead of discarding this waste material, it is recycled. In the production of pellets, pressing without adhesives is used. No chemical additives are used. In addition, the ash itself can be used for fertilization. All advantages combined in one lead to many positive moments in the process of baling cereal straw.
Resources needed
The budget is determined according to the production needs and the need for heat during the year.
Evidence of success
In 2018 the concluded contracts for the purchase of straw are for 100 000 decares of arable land. In 2019) the concluded straw contracts increase by another 20,000 decares and their total value is already more than 120,000 decares in over 40 lands. In the 2019 season, about 20,000 tons of straw were produced, including the cultivated fields of corn and sunflower.
Agropolychim saves a large amount of its costs by replacing the use of natural gas with steam-converted biowaste waste.

Potential for learning or transfer
The company summarized this project as a good practice - waste bio-raw materials from cereals are considered environmentally friendly fuel, during combustion can be used as heat with very low levels of carbon oxides emissions, which are among the main gases favoring the greenhouse effect and ozone depletion. The straw burning is a rational solution in heat production for both individual consumers and larger plants. Advantages of straw as a fuel: its wide distribution, easy accessibility in agricultural areas, a relatively cheap fuel compared to traditional fuels. The production of straw bales contributes to the reduction of costs - processing enterprises& agri- producers lower investment costs for plant protection, reduction the costs of harvesting and field cultivation. The company invests in innovative biotechnology, replacing the use of natural gas in the production of fertilizers with a direct straw combustion plant, thereby significantly reducing the release of harmful emissions.
