This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
Lack of support for SMEs to access knowledge and technology transfer services in the cross-sectoral field of the circular bioeconomy.
This project, which will establish partnerships with 35 companies, aims to increase the economic efficiency of partner companies by developing and implementing innovative technological solutions for (bio) processing of bio-products in the value chains of the bioeconomy and their use for bio-products demanded by the market.
The specific objectives of the call for projects are:
(i) transfer of knowledge from INCDCP-ICECHIM to partner companies and mutual transfer of research and development skills/competencies and supporting innovation between INCDCP-ICECHIM and partner companies
(ii) carrying out research and development projects coordinated by INCDCP-ICECHIM in effective collaboration with partner companies
The estimated results are:
-25 patent applications resulted, of which 5 international with
partner companies
-30 scientific publications carried out together with the partner companies
The theme of project proposals:
• Intensification of the processing of the agro-industrial bio-products
•Carrying out microbial biosynthesis with the use of microbial consortia of consensus
•Modulation of bioavailability and increase of biological efficacy through formulations intelligent
•Production of biodegradable bioplastics, biosensors, matrices for
histo-diagnosis, thermo-accumulating compounds, biomimetic coatings from biopolymers.

Resources needed
3.1 mil. Euro including the Call for proposals for 35 SMEs
Evidence of success
From 35 SMEs, till now, only 7 SMEs were supported to develop innovative products based on active ingredients recovered from bioeconomy side streams.
Such new products include honey enriched in antioxidants recovered from forest fruit marc.
Another product is the feed and technological additives based on spent brewery yeast and wine lees.
Advanced fertilizers from wool and feathers is another product
Filament for 3D-printing from milling side streams is another product.

Potential for learning or transfer
These new products based on active ingredients recovered from bioeconomy side streams have the potential for transfer.
Such new bioproducts include honey enriched in antioxidants recovered from forest fruit marc. The beneficiary of this research is the Association Rom Honey Group from Iasi city.
Another bio-product is the feed and technological additives based on spent brewery yeast and wine lees. The beneficiary of this research is Agsira Ltd.
Advanced fertilizers from wool and feathers are other products. The beneficiary of the research is FIA Crop Control Ltd, Constanța county.
Filament for 3D-printing from milling side streams is another product, and the beneficiary of the research is ProdPlast (joint stock company), Buftea, Ilfov.
These technologies could be transferred to other interested companies.
