About this good practice
This program is the first in Hungary with tailored trainings, entrepreneurial development programs (effectiveness of production, organisation of work and flexibility) to strengthen the market position of the manufacturing SMEs.
The main beneficiary of the call is IFKA Ltd (operative body of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology). The following activities are supported:
a) Project-preparation and project development
b) Research to identify the target group, its demands elaboration of methods for business qualification and prequalifying
c) Enterprise diagnostics and development plans
d) Establishing the list of qualified service providers
e) Establishment of Competence Centre
f) Establishment of the Consultative Committee, which supports the implementation and evaluation
g) Development of the monitoring and evaluation system
h) Motivational training for the management of the target group
i) Supporting pilot developments
j) Suggestions for policy development
k) Communication activities
l) Other administrative activities
The aim of the call is identifying those companies which have a dynamical growing potential and getting a better understand of their specifics and needs. Based on this knowledge a personal development plan and customized policy is going to be worked out in order to create strong and long scale partnership based cooperation between policy makers and high-growth potential companies, which take an important role in the Hungarian economy.

High-growth potential companies:
- reach a minimum of 100 million HUF sales volume,
- in a convergence region (of HUN),
- have 10+ people employed in domestic ownership
- be able to grow in the past 3 years

The program plans to support 1800 companies (500 with less than 3 business years).
By the end of the project:
• 1 Competence Centre
• National level survey
• Min. 100 personal interviews
• At least 50 company diagnostics and prequalified companies
• Method of service providers qualification
• Suggestions for the policy supporting SMEs
• Workshops with at least 200 attendees
• Min. 100 companies chosen for development

Potential for learning or transfer
Studies stated internationally that value-added production and creation of jobs is mostly connected to those companies, which are growing dynamically, innovative and as of their export activity are admitted competitive internationally. These companies are the High-growth potential companies.
SMEs are the base of the economy all over Europe, that’s why this practice is transferable.
Within this good practice after the evaluation of the applicants a tailored development package is offered to the companies to support their growth and competitiveness so this programme gives a framework for transformable support for specific needs. Based on the skillsets of the mentors and the available networks development of the companies and their managers in 6 different topics (technology readiness, foreign market presence – internationalization, high performance management, CRM/ ERP systems, Financing, Online presence) is available in Hungary which can be tailored to local/regional needs anywhere.
SMEs are the base of the economy all over Europe, that’s why this practice is transferable.
