About this good practice
Trokut Šibenik’s NEET Academy is dedicated to empowering young individuals who are not currently engaged in education, employment, or training by offering specialized programs that enhance their skills and employability in the IT sector.
Each program typically spans six months, combining theoretical instruction with practical experience. Participants engage in hands-on projects and internships with partner companies, providing real-world exposure and networking opportunities, the group is usually no larger than 22 students.
Eligibility and Application:
Target Group: Young unemployed individuals not currently enrolled in any educational system.
Educational Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
Skills Needed: Analytical abilities, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), presentation skills, and proficiency in using office tools.
Application Process: Interested candidates are required to submit a CV and complete a questionnaire.

The programm adapt quickly to the needs of the labor market. The 2025 edition opffers the following contents:

2. Full-Stack Developer Program
3. AI Front-End Development Program
A major benefit is that young unemployed people get free education in a field that is in high demand on the job market and become well-paid professionals working for well-known IT companies.

Resources needed
Space and equipment, at least one claserooms for educatio. Two persons (half time) for organisation and administrative jobs. External trainers (educators) are needed for training if the organization does not have them. The costs are covered by an agreement with the city in the Neet Academy.
Evidence of success
The practice is a successful example of a non-formal education program that enabled the employment of hard-to-employ people in well-paid positions.Thanks to a quick adaptation to the needs of the labor market and the particiaption fo comapnies in the recrutiment process, the final success rate in employment is greater than 80 percent.
It is also a rare example when a local institution (from a small non mentropaltian area) co operate with national leaders in IT sector.
Potential for learning or transfer
The program is free for the participants and can be easily transferred to many other areas.
The essence of the program is to currently find market niches for employment that are not covered by regular education. Then a partnership is made with employers who need employees from the mentioned field and an education program tailored to the employer’s need is made. A public call seeking unemployed people for training is also an invitation for potential employment, which motivates young unemployed people and ensures a high level of program completion and employment immediately after training. The program is covered by local community funds, which allows young people to acquire competences at no cost. The key concepts of success are: rapid adaptation to the labor market, education in cooperation with employers, free education, and the call for education is also a call for employment.
