Bringing digital services to rural areas
On this third day of stories about results in research and innovation, we discuss the ERUDITE project.
They are working on extending high-speed broadband and digital services to urban and rural areas so that its citizens could benefit from and contribute to the digital economy.
What have they achieve?
- They used a new methodology to create digital services (SEROI+)
- They set up national and rural Fab Labs in Slovenia to help people develop new products
- They developed a Digital Hub in Ireland to provide capacity building, create new jobs and start-ups, and support existing companies
How?
They were inspired by the Fab Labs of their French partner in Nièvre who is using the potential of ICT to foster economic and social development in rural areas.
