Greener houses to reduce energy poverty
What have they achieved?
Social Green partners facing common challenges on housing in poor neighbourhoods and energy waste. Here are several good examples identified amongst the partners:
- The development of an innovative scheme called Sõpruse 202, in Tallin, Estonia that helped to finance retrofits allowing 60 % of energy savings.
- The energy renovation of a district of Porto, Portugal affected by social problems that impacted the quality of life of more than 7000 people.
- New resource-efficient social housing in Alba Iulia, Romania for the people who suffered from the post-communist transition.
Thanks to Social Green, partners from Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Estonia, Sweden and Romania benefited from interacting with each other. They found inspiration, tested and evaluated their good practices between peers. It resulted in the integration of those new ideas into regional action plans.
