Guiding regions through renovation of public buildings
We continue presenting results from our projects working on low-carbon economy this week and more specifically on energy efficiency. Today, let’s have a look at the project REBUS.
The overall objective of the REBUS project is to help regions across Europe to save energy and public resources by renovating public buildings.
What have they achieved?
Did you know that a significant part of Europe’s carbon emissions are caused by buildings’ energy loss? The Interreg Europe project REBUS is trying to change that.
Thanks to exchanges of knowledge and experience, partners from 8 different European countries came up with a solution to help decision makers called the Energy Renovation Path (ERP). The ERP is a guide collecting good practices identified within the REBUS partnership, including useful tips and guidelines on planning, implementing and monitoring renovation works in public buildings.
EU public authorities, facing the same problems with policies on energy efficiency, can benefit from the project results to develop their own plans and improve their energy policy’s content and management.
Want to know more?
The ERP collects experiences from good practices identified within the REBUS partnership, here are some examples of the guide:
- In Tuscany, Italy, hospitals with zero emission are using renewable sources of energy. A number of local hospitals have achieved outstanding results in terms of energy savings and carbon emission reductions.
- A training in Hungary for public sector employees creates awareness of the need to save energy.
