On 17 October 2024, the Policy Learning Platform is hosting the first episode of the webinar series 'Blue-green infrastructure for resilient cities'. Join us for this session on implementing blue infrastructure solutions for sustainable water management from 14:00 to 15:30 CEST.
Climate change is increasingly affecting urban environments, with European cities often unprepared for the resulting extreme weather and natural disasters. Blue-green infrastructure offers a crucial strategy for enhancing urban resilience. By integrating water management and green spaces, it helps cities cope with flooding, reduce pollution, and mitigate the effects of heatwaves.
This approach not only strengthens flood resistance but also improves air quality, boosts biodiversity, and provides recreational spaces. Additionally, it contributes to better local microclimates, enhances mental and physical wellbeing, and can increase property values.
This series of webinars aims to inspire local and regional policy makers with practical examples of blue and green infrastructure.
Join us for the first episode and dive into inspiring solutions, good practices, guidance and recommendations backed by real-life examples from European cities and regions from many Interreg Europe projects.
