The Pomorskie Voivodeship in Poland has requested an interregional peer review on regional support system for young people with mental health problems to integrate the labour market. This peer review will take place in Autumn 2025 (dates to be confirmed) in the Pomorskie Voïvodeship, Gdansk being its capital town.

The challenge addressed

The challenge addressed focuses on supporting young people (18+ up to 29) with mental health problems to enter and stay in the labour market.

At this point, Pomorskie is considering different approaches that could be offered to young people with mental health problems as they are looking for employment or thinking about changing jobs:

  • What are effective ways of communication and tools that could we use to inform our target group about the support tools and policies that are already in place and that they could benefit from?
  • How can young people with mental health problems find a position suitable to their needs and capabilities?
  • How to find employer who will understand young people with mental problems and will be open to employ them as they still complete treatment in mental health hospitals?

As a regional authority, Pomorskie Voivodeship is looking for solutions that would allow them to help this group of people in finding their place in the workforce and, in doing so, contributing to overcoming their mental challenges. The regional authorities in Pomorskie are considering different approaches that could be offered to young people dealing with mental health problems as they are looking for employment or thinking about changing jobs.

Therefore, we are looking for experts from active labour policies field with experience in policies towards youth employment, with a focus on mental health problems.

The Region seeks advice from peers with experience in:
  • Best practices for labour inclusion of young people with mental health problems
  • Support programmes and outreach tools to young people and businesses
  • Non-institutionalised support organisations
