About the project
Large maritime region open to the world (210 km of coastline, 3 main ports), the Hauts-de-France Region set up a Parliament of the Sea. This specific commission brings together all the institutional, socioeconomic, elected, scientific and associative stakeholders, within discussion forums and debates related to coastal and seafront issues.
The project aims to strengthen this experiment by involving more closely and in the long term the local populations and stakeholders on the specific challenges facing European maritime regions : blue economy, adapting to climate change, reconciling tourist attractiveness with the preservation of natural spaces, attractiveness of port areas, decarbonization of transport and economic activities... What could be the governance of tomorrow? What involvement of the different stakeholders? The project will seek to analyze the governance framework to effectively engage relevant partners.
