About the project
Agriculture and digitalization are integral elements of a secure, sustainable and competitive agri-food supply chain. However, the integration of these terms in development initiatives and funding instruments is often lacking. Despite the undeniable importance and relevance of the agri-food sector, it is the least digitised sector in the world.
The project intends to bring EU agriculture on the path to digitalisation, with particular attention to the needs and challenges of implementing new technologies in rural areas, closer to the value system of the digital industry for the use of mobile and smart applications, mechanisation and automatisation, data usage for monitoring and prediction.
The overall objective is to improve regional development policies and programmes to boost the uptake of existing digital innovations by the agri-food sector on the national scale, stimulate transregional collaboration and harness opportunities to ensure sustainable and inclusive transformation.
