About the project
Heritage institutions are becoming Culture 3.0 providers in the collective sense-making process. The distinction between producers and users is blurred. This has helped them (and societies) to become more resilient and contribute through increased popularity to the socioeconomic development of the regions. A fruitful strand in Culture 3.0 is crowdsourcing. For the public it is mainly about photos: enriching the information about historical images to geotag, categorise and rephotograph old pictures creating then and now picture pairs (see Ajapaik.ee). It is a means to engage with our cultural landscapes and visual picture centric ways to learn about history. It opens up cultural heritage collections, innovates digitisation workflows (such as AI based computer vision technology to complement human knowledge) and fosters citizens’ ownership of heritage. It is a field where there is a lot to share and learn from each other and we are looking for interested partners across Europe.
Partners we are looking for
Public bodies, bodies governed by public law or private non-profit bodies across Europe. Preferably taking the role of a lead partner.
