About the project
Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) have been developed & implemented during the past decade with varying levels of success. With the SUMP2.0 Guidelines launched in 2019, there are opportunities for new enhancements.
The previous Interreg Europe InnovaSUMP project (2017-2021) has introduced & documented innovations in SUMP methodology, through an 'overlay', in terms of:
- Travel behaviour change
- Sustainable tourism mobility
- SUMP-SECAP harmonisation
- Pricing & financing measures.
The SUMP2.0 Guidelines include further guidance on high priority aspects of sustainable urban mobility planning, viz:
- Planning for electric road transport
- Integration of Shared Mobility Approaches
- Regulating vehicle access to cities as part of integrated mobility policies
- Planning for More Resilient & Robust Urban Mobility
- SUMP in Smaller Cities & Towns.
The proposed project aims to further enhance the SUMP processes, through exchange of experience and advances.
