About the project
Wind energy is an increasingly efficient and cost competitive renewable source of energy, playing an important role in the strategies for climate change abatement and energy transition. Wind energy sector has increased over the last decades; however, it faces growing opposition at the local level. Such resistances are undermining its further expansion. In this framework, the overall objective of the GREEN YES project is to establish a solid exchange of good practices among decision makers who play a significative role in the green energy sector about social engagement in onshore wind farms’ designing and about better social acceptability.
The main outcomes will focus on an increase in the citizens’ awareness about the enviromental/cultural/economic/social costs and benefits of wind energy as promising renewable source of energy, but especially to improve conscious social acceptance of onshore wind energy plants.
