About the project
Many local and regional public authorities want to contribute to EU policy goals by setting up projects in relevant policy sectors like climate change, smart cities etc. But they struggle to apply successfully for the relevant EU funding because of governance shortcomings. This is frustrating also for EU funding program responsibles who put the focus more and more on local authorities to implement EU policy. Some entities react by creating small units tasked with finding better access to EU funds. The success these units have depends on the adaption of local decision and governance procedures to the demands and constraints of EU action programs. We want to create or join a group of like-minded cities and/or regions and exchange policy expertise to improve our policy instruments. With our Grant Management Concept we think we can add valuable expertise to this project.

We look for other like-minded cities and regions, but also for scientific institutions like universities or consultants with experience in the field or even relevant NGO'S to bring together all the necessary expertise
